Description

Create an enchanting decor piece by making a rainbow butterfly suncatcher mobile from upcycled clear plastic bottles, promoting sustainability and creativity.

Materials

  • 4–6 clear plastic bottles
  • Acrylic paint (rainbow colors)
  • Paintbrushes (various sizes)
  • Scissors
  • String or fishing line
  • Wire or a sturdy hanger
  • Hole puncher
  • Optional: glitter or embellishments for extra flair

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Bottles: Rinse and dry your bottles, then cut them into sections for the butterfly wings.
  2. Create Butterfly Wings: Design your wings using acrylic paint and allow to dry. Add glitter as desired.
  3. Assemble the Mobile: Make holes on the side of each wing, thread string through to attach them together.
  4. Attach to a Hanger: Use wire or a hanger to attach the butterflies, arranging them in different heights.
  5. Hang and Enjoy: Find a sunny spot to display your mobile and brighten up your space.

Notes

Choose bottles with smooth surfaces for easier painting. Experiment with different colors and designs for seasonal themes.
